Over the past 25 years I have had the pleasure of field testing just about every new model metal detector White's has designed.
...none has pleased me more than the most recent addition to the top of the line:The Spectrum DFX

Digging Deeper with the DFX-

This new book by Jeff Foster is an amazing compilation of detailed explanations of every feature and function of the DFX, including many graphs, charts, and special programs as well as step by step instructions on how to change programs, create new programs and basically move around the menu of the DFX.

This is a well written book and an excellent companion to the factory manual as well as "Understanding the DFX" written by James Normandi.

Though the first part of this book can be of help to a beginner, the bulk of it is really designed for someone who is already familiar with the DFX and has a desire to optimize its performance.

DFX Gold Methods

This new book may be the best ever written on metal detecting for gold jewelry. The book specifically talks about the use of the White's DFX but the techniques and information are of interest to any person using a metal detector to look for gold jewelry. Some of the best information regards site reading, which is how to examine a site to determine where the best odds are for finding jewelry. Numerous strategies for reducing the amount of junk recovered while searching for gold are covered in detail. Beach and water hunting are covered but most of this book focuses on the playgrounds and sports fields accessible to people almost anywhere. Illustrated. 76 pages.
